    I have had my eye on this coin for well over a year. I finally decided to f-it and get it. I just loved the look of the little provincial.

    Gadara in the Syrian Decapolis
    O: SEBASTOS, laureate head right.
    R: GADAPA, turreted head of Tyche right, date HP before.
    Year 108 = 44/45 AD.

    I too think it has eye appeal. I can see why Mat may have been drawn to it for a year's time.

    A very nice coin, and one that I would happily accept into my collection. Coins of the Decapolis can be tough in better grades, but quite a few nice provincial varieties can be had from Gadara. Here is one of mine, Faustina Jr. with Zeus...

    I'm glad you got it! I lost a couple of capped bust pieces by not acting fast enough and a Liberty seated half in MS condition too,pays to "slap leather" when a nice one appears....
