Clashed Die? or WHAT?

Greetings: Can anyone tell me what happened to the reverse of this commemorative half? It's not anything I've seen before. It almost looks like the die cracked and was repaired. But that is something I would expect to see on a weaker strike. I've had others look at it and have come up empty.

If the error does not 'jump' out to you: look at the area just above the dates and the word CENTENNIAL on the reverse. You will see the impression travels up the left side of the coin.

Obviously an error to me; I just can't put a designation to it.

    Thanks for looking.

I see it now . Maybe a glue and also 2 die chips in the tail feathers.

It looks like glue or similar residue

Not an error, just a sticky substance as already said.

That makes sense. Do you think it can be removed without damaging the coin?

Depends on what type of glue. I'd try industrial grade acetone first.

@morezan, it would be helpful to many here if you posted your photos Full Image and not thumbnail. Saves us the time and effort to enlarge to view. Thanks.
