Those are some awesome trays guys! Some wonderful rarities in there Orfew! I also like the mix and match of denomination and metals @Alegandron, very cool! That's a nice augustus as well Svarog, I love the short Caesars!
It's quite a nice way of displaying coins. I like that too and have commited some myself : http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=3881 Republic in silver : 12 Caesars : 30 denarii (Oh ! Jesus !) : Sestertii of the 3rd century : Q
A little late in congratulating you, Nemo, on your wonderful achievement with regard to the coinage of the Civil War! If I am not mistaken you have now examples of denarii of 5 Groups (out of the 6) described by R.I.C? I am still not very adept at recognizing the various types, except perhaps Groups I and II (Hispania and Gallia). I can honestly say that you have been instrumental (responsible?) for inspiring me to look at this coinage - and now have my first example with a 'Bon Event' denarius for Spain/Galba. Next shall be a Gallic issue I would guess, as these seem to be more easily available than groups 3-5. I would dearly like, however, to also find an example of Group V (Germania). I think I will not even attempt to find a Group VI denarius, or a Macer for that matter.
Awesome denari of Otho (my personal fav), Nero, Titus, Vitellius + Marc Antony and of course double -faced Trajan (have myself 2)
Thanks for the kind words Eduard. Unfortunately I only have three of the six groups. I, II and two examples of group IV. Your Bon Event denarius is really excellent. There was a nice one available from Forvm, I delayed and it disappeared. I look forward to seeing your Civil Wars collection grow!
I think I know the one you mean. I had my eye on it also. I was planning on buying it during one of the 10% off sales but alas...it was gone.
