Even as an R-1 $40 is a good price for that token PennyGuy. Good deal!

I'd like to make up a token. OBV: If it wasn't for hard times REV: I'd be timeless :D

Would these be considered hard time tokens?

Good to have you here Kansas. Your token isn't a Hard Times token but rather so sort of trade token or gaming piece. These are usually called "good-for" tokens because the stated value is good for whatever is being offered...a drink, a service of some kind or any number of other things.
Hard Times tokens were issued roughly between 1832 and 1844 because of the bad economic conditions in the country at the time. A great series to collect but a bit pricey at times.

Thanks Bruce, I will look through my tokens, again, I dig up so many its hard for me to know what they are, I know I have sales tokens, tax tokens, transportation, coal store, and several other questionable ones that I can't find anywhere.

IDK. Maybe you should start a thread titled something like: "Post your non Civil War/hard times tokens"

No offense intended, I was serious. You asked where you could post tokens not in this category, and I didn't know where. I think that you've got some interesting stuff would be happy to see more of it.

    So really, post a thread!

All tokens are considered exonumia. There is a thread going just for it. (Search exonumia) Post there and you will find many who are interested in your pieces. It's an interesting thread just to look through and see all the variety of items. There's some great stuff there.

Just received this newp. The grocer Wm. Jackson had 23 different variety store cards. This leaves me with seven to go.
