@paddyman98 posted a ridiculously awesome thread earlier in the year showing some of his error half dollar collection. This is my inadequate response to that thread. My only saving grace is that I paid exactly $0.50 for each of them. They were all found in circulation, though I had to search 945,056 halves to find them. First is the staple half I’ve shown several times. Also found a nice struck through string, something @paddyman98 also had in his collection but on a Franklin. Another nice ‘76 error struck through grease. A ‘64-D RPM - a really nice find. Have to zoom in to see it. And a random clipped half. thanks for looking.
Some more finds, mostly clips (incomplete planchets for you purists), struck through grease, and some DDO/DDR’s.
And a couple of neat ones at the end. And incomplete cladding layer that some clown scratched up trying to figure out what’s going on. A classic ‘74-D DDO and an ‘82-P no FG. Finally a ‘99-P blank planchet. How do know it’s a ‘99-P? It came for a solid box of ‘99-P’s. That’s pretty much it. That’s for sticking it out this far.
Nice finds, Joe. Thanks for sharing. I especially like the struck through string Kennedy Half, and the cool staple.
I love the string half. Really have developed an appreciation for struck through coins. Not sure why but their uniqueness I find cool.
