Not only that but in addition the Mint, as a Government agency doesn't account for money like a business. There really is NO PROFIT (or losses). Its just government. Analyzing their profits like its a business is applying the wrong model to the agency. Asking if the Mint is making money is the same as asking how fast the road goes when your car is traving at 60 miles an hour. Your car drives. The road does not. A business makes a profit. The Mint just doesn't. Ruben
My thought on why there on new pres coins in high grade is becuase they arent made well. Just churned out. I know it seems to you guys, that I really dont like these coins.....well I dont.
This thing is a colossal bust and the mint is going to be stuck with billions of useless coins by the time this is finished. This is just aweful and it suppresses the chances of a dollar coin from ever being adapted. Ruben
Lazy OLDER female bank tellers. One lady almost didn't even look at me after i told her I wanted dollar coins. Yes, she was probably in her late 60's.
I buy things with them all the time. I have my pieces and rolls for my collection, of course, but I want them to circulate. I've only recieved a few at the register back as change. People just need to start hoarding bills and force the circulation of the dollar coins.
I dispense them at my car washes in Ky. I have probably put 40K in presidentials into circulation. I have put many times that many SBAs and Sackies into circulation since 2000. To date, I have recieved ONE in change at a Moby Dick restaurant up the street from one of my washes. They were out of one dollar bills and actually asked me if it was ok to give it to me. I.B.
circulating dollar i got 33 roll of prez dollar. my first plan is to spend at least half of it. it turn out that i only give one piece to a friend. that's it.
The ones I go through (East of the Mississippi River), use notes. These coins were never intended to circulate. There sole purpose is Seigniorage.
