Seems like I have had the opportunity to buy these a lot lately. The deep chocolate toning of this one is very nice! What do you think on grade?
Looks AU-55 without much brown toning. Maybe it's just the pics but it doesn't look like it has chocolate brown toning.
Damn. This just proves that it's more advantageous to view coins in hand, that lighting is everything, and one can't necessarily predict what a coin looks like just by looking at photos on the internet. I was sure "years of experience" grading in person and from photographs helped to infallibly predict what a coin will look like in hand. So much for THAT.
There is *way* too much light on the coin in those original pics. Try taking some more pics with less light, so that we can see the "chocolate" surfaces. Also..... "chocolate" is not a term I usually use for silver...... copper, sure. But silver? Why is it brown?
Ah, you went to the other extreme.... that picture has not nearly enough light, and is at a weird angle. I guess we'll just have to wait until it gets back.
