Probably (as in, my guess, not sure ) that is a piece "from" Tuvalu. They started such a series a few years ago, see here (1 oz) for example. Christian
Not everybody's forte. I think they're interesting but not enough to collect anything like it. 2oz. Silver is say $32. Plus the artwork say $60 sell price $90++, overall melt worth $32. Those odds are strictly for the collector.
Where can you buy silver @ $16 today? I will agree that some of this stuff is overpriced, but if collectors are willing to pay it, who are we to judge?
Spot is now what $17 oz.. Why pay more than $3 over spot on bullion? So at most then $20 per oz. so on that $40 for 2oz silver. I'm not saying pay spot on an 1800's bust or other old collectable coinage. But I have several 2016, 15, 14 Silver Eagles that I didnt pay more than $20 each.
Not my favorite design they have ever done on those, but I do really like their 2 oz antiqued coins. The artwork on the Chinese design is pretty nice and have considered getting one, just not really a subject matter that really grabs me. Wish I would have gotten the Kangaroo one while it was still available.
I know. Not even a coin as in terms of a curency was only trying to reference it. In between breaks at work sometimes the word I want to use doesn't come to mind until way after the fact.
Ok, I take that back is a currency. I went back to the link & looked at it better. But I stick with the cost is a tad much for some people.
