I could go either way, maybe cast and maybe not. Wouldn't risk it.

This coin is very rare and very difficult to get. Do not know what to do. Same as you, then it looks real then it does not.

Derick, unless you have the option of sending it back if no-like (and maybe get a second opinion) I too would shy away.

It is damage on coin side that makes me worry. Looks strange. For a 1000 US, you are right. Computor down, bank closed.

I think you just answered your own question.

If it's very rare and very difficult to get, do not buy sight unseen, unslabbed coins. Get a slabbed coin or buy only when absolutely certain.

I do not think it is cast, check rim head on. weigh and size it. Good luck.

I too do not believe its cast, but with that large a purchase you need to be comfortable with the transaction.

Well, guy dropped price to 750 US and is sold. Now, at least, it is gone and cannot bother me anymore.

Oh well, if in doubt, best to back out. There will always be others

I remember reading thread about coin collecting and patience recently. True, there will be others. Very excited, going to Adelaide for work. Very nice world coin shops!

Very nice. I really like the imperfect planchet (strike through?).
