The sac dollar is the one with the big money VARIETY. However to answer your question about the penny's. There is the 2000 wide AM but the only way to know is to remove it from the package and look. As far as a premium I've seen them for sale in the $2-$3 range on up to $12-$14 each.......but the average I believe is around $5. You got a nice deal congrats.
I have a "Cheerios" cent. It is worth about $50 according to PCGS. Nice coin, but a fingerprint is over Lincoln's shoulder/coat.
Thanks everyone for the input. I guess I did not do too bad as if Frank says, slabbed, going for $79.00. I'll wait for another special and submit with others. You guys are great!
D Did you ever retrieve it? LOL. My dog when a few weeks old, ate $50.00 in my sons paper money (junk). He retrieved enough of it after the fact that he was able to get an exchange on all of it. Funniest, stinkiest situation I ever saw.
Was just wondering...did you submit or buy on the secondary market? If you submitted, did you leave in the package for them to open. Asking to find out as how would I prove what it is unless I leave in the package.
Pretty sure you need to leave it in the package. They're otherwise indistinguishable from ordinary cents.
I bought it from Great Collections. I suggest leaving it the package, though. You know how that goes. You might preempt the company and tell them you are sending it, and then ask them if they want particulars. Good luck.
"...I have a "Cheerios" cent. It is worth about $50 according to PCGS. Nice coin, but a fingerprint is over Lincoln's shoulder/coat." That's a milk spot.
You might have seen this website already. It's amazing what these things have sold for! The Discovery Piece alone was sold for $9000.00 I want to share this website with you - http://www.smalldollars.com/dollar/page20c.html
No, never saw this but it might have been an article in N.N. that made me think of my post. Thanks for the article, very good read.
If you ever come across an unopened Sac in those Cheerio packs, there is a marker on the obverse since you can't see the reverse of the coin in original packaging. If you happen to find one at the flea market, look for a spike emanating from Sacagawea's right (facing) shoulder (her left shoulder) IIRC. Congrats on those cent pickups. Quick flip on the bay?
I don't know if they still do, but Cheerios cents still in the package tended to bring $5 - $7 each on ebay, so you did OK. Just don't take it out of the package.
" If you ever come across an unopened Sac in those Cheerio packs, there is a marker on the obverse since you can't see the reverse of the coin in..."...But what if you could? See the reverse side and not the obverse, like usually cheerio cents? Packaged with reverse side showing. Does anyone know how many were packed with the reverse side showing?
I'm not talking about the Sac though, I seen a cheerio cent that was packaged with the reverse side showing and not the obverse like all the rest I have seen. How many are packaged with the reverse showing is my question? Is it rare?
They should of been all made to show the Obverse only. I imagine a few being inserted incorrectly. But I don't think that's any major mistake. It's still a Cent.
It won't enlarge for me so I can't tell. The two I sent in were obverse showing so I took a chance on them. They have not come back yet from ANACS.
