    Didn't the mint use the reverse die that was used to strike the 24K Sacagaweas's that got sent into space on the Cheerio dollars?

    Wow. Did anyone care at the time about the cereal boxed coins? The Sacajawea dollars were so unpopular that one episode of "The Simpsons" included a scene with Moe holding a shotgun to a customer's face while snarling "You get outta here with those Sacajawea dollars!" I remember laughing until I almost passed out.

    I still have 3 - 4 of the 2000 Cheerio pennies in their original "wrapping." I have no idea why I saved them but there they sit. I also have no idea why someone would pay $12,000 for one of the "Cheerio Dollars," but we're all different, I guess.

    ...where was the "overrated coin" thread again...
