PAMP will be releasing a new design each year corresponding with the Lunar animal from the Chinese calendar (much like the Perth Mint does with their Lunar Series coins).

The bars will come in a variety of sizes, 100g, 1oz and 5g for Gold:$56/oz over spot

And in Silver they will come in 100g, 1oz and 10g sizes:$16/oz over spot

Nice, but I wonder what their terms are for selling to someone in the USA.

  6. I like these a lot but it looks like you have to wire money from your bank account to Australia as they do not accept CC or paypal. If anyone knows where to get them in the US, please post that info. TC

Quick update: People are selling them on ebay as pre sales for up to x2 what the original asking price will be. IMMA STOCK UP NOW ON EACH SILVER ONE, THE 100GRAM, 1 OUNCE AND 10GRAM

Same here. I'm probably going to spend half of my next paycheck on these. Wish I had more to spend.

As of now, it looks like you can purchase them from the Australian dealer and wire them the money and also pay the shipping from Australia, whatever that might be. The 1-ounce bar is about $52.00 U. S. right now. Your other option is to purchase a bar on ebay for about $80.00, which does include shipping.

I have found usually with something like this, if you don't have to have 1 right away, some will usually show up on some dealer's website not very long after they are released. I often find if I am willing to wait just a while, the deals are usually better, unless, of course it is a lower-mintage item.

Sending a wire to Australia could be pricey compared to the worth of the item. (at least for silver) I hope a reputable dealer here in the USA imports some.

if the amount over spot is a set amount like that, you're better off buying the smaller fractionals. those tend to resell at a
    higher premium.

Really cool design. My father was born in the year of the dragon and is Chinese. I'll have to pick up a silver one for his birthday next year.

Beautiful design, thank-you for posting. Unfortunately at $52 + shipping + $25 wire transfer fee, the Ebay prices are actually right in the ballpark. I'll be interested in these, but only if a U.S. dealer brings them in. I asked Apmex and they said they had no plans to do so.

This is the charge from your financial institution. When you do an overseas wire, you are also liable for the transaction charges imposed by the foreign banking system when the money moves from Fedwire to Swift or whatever is used in Australia. It can be fairly expensive.

It's probably not something you would want to do for a single silver bullion item like this.

Indeed, I've been on the wrong side of those charges a few times when sending business payments to vendors down under. Unless a U.S. dealer brings decent quantities of these in, the Ebay prices (for once) work out cheaper than DIY for a single bar.

For what it's worth, Gainesville Coins has these listed as "coming soon" on their website. They "should" be priced less than the ebay trend of $75.00 (including shipping) per 1-ounce silver bar.
