Just some cool coins I found in the box. Its a shame the 1855-O Half dollar is almost certainly cleaned, possibly tooled. The 1831 is in rough shape as well. Pretty neat stuff.
Your title says "in the collection tonight".. what collection are you referring to? Your posts says "Just some cool coins I found in the box".. what box are you referring to? Your 2nd post says "Was packing up for the night and found these! Another roll of Morgans" packing what up? Where are the Morgans? I don't see any Morgans I see ASE coins and a Franklin Half
My collection. My box of coins (also known as My collection). Morgans are in the tube and I am packing it up for the night aka I'm headed to bed. ..... I leave the fun to my seller, @stldanceartist
@jwitten Lol. I inherited a TON of coins and I haven't had the time to go through them. Hence, I go through them and find a bunch of stuff. This might clarify some questions about the thread.
It's difficult to tell exactly what you are finding but I can tell you are excited about it so congratulations. Glad your pleased with your find.
I love the 3¢ Nickel. Both the 3¢ and 5¢ nickels are tough to find as business strikes with 1879 and 1880 dates. I usually recommend to my clients that they purchase gem proofs of those dates to fill the holes as the business strikes are more expensive and elusive. Sometimes it's not a matter of money for the collectors, they just get tired of waiting for a nice one to pop up and go with the proof.
Almost sad to let the 3 and 5 cent nickels go. I was really amazed when I was looking through them and found em. Neat piece of history.
