Every time I click on this thread, those pancakes show up, then segue into the latest post. I too am hungry for the buggers, but they're so bad for my teeth.....

Please keep the fluffy pancakes reports coming. Some of the best parts of Long Beach are seeing friends and dinner after.

 

Do the mug shot pictures seem a bit out of place to bring to a coin show??? Did the seller have a potential lead that brought him there? I have seen many unusual items at the shows but they usually fall into the category of exonumia. Now if these people had a history of robbing banks, armored cars or well known collections; there would be at least some correlation. The only thing here is that it takes money to buy them.

 

The Long Beach show is a coin AND collectibles show, and includes dealers selling sports and movie memorabilia, stamps, comic books, antiques, postcards, old photos, etc., so I'm not sure why anyone would even question someone selling antique mug shot photographs at this show.

I never knew that, obviously. There are so many coin and paper currency dealers attending, I wasn't aware it was an "all" collectors show. That changes my conception of what the show is about.

 

There is some VERY cool non-coin stuff for sure. You can get awesome deals on the non-numi stuff too if you know what you're looking at and can resist the urge to look at coins for a few hours and hunt for collectibles
