Official investment metal Charlotte-Mecklenburg National marketing campaign greater Charlotte Economic Development Corporation. What ya think?
Without knowing it's history and/or why this was made, and assuming there's no metal content to worry about, it is still something that may appeal to a number of collectors and/or those with an interest in the area. I wouldn't expect a great deal for it, but is certainly something someone will buy.
I'd like the novelty of it more if it was closer to the real size. Looks like the size of a 20 but says 5.
Which, if it was gold, would be worth its weight in.... gold. *I'm certainly not suggesting it is, but only addressing the point behind Mr. Santini's post.
We know it’s fake. The coin says “COPY”. That’s not a debate. The question is what is the coin made of? Usually a google search will turn up most items of value, this coin... nothing. My guess is that it’s gold plated and about the size of a Double Eagle and nearly worthless except to a regional collector.
You can clearly say where is says "COPY" on the reverse. Under the eagle's wing right next to "America."
Don’t believe a miss spelled word this guy says. All lies and CRAZY MADE UP CRAP! Read his short posting history don’t believe me.
I just did...I don't see anything there that makes this thread seem any less likely. Chances are, this is just a plated token meant to look like an old gold piece. Most of the coins he has posted have been lower value items...likely the same thing here. I don't see what you are trying to say...it all seems to line up to me.
It’s not the pocket change and EBay buys that I’m talking about. It’s the attitude and general unhinged nature of this poster that concerns and maddens me and others. This one is a time wasting fool and at this point not deserving our help any more send him to CC. He and USMC62 should get along great! Think about it, the all seeing eye and the rim specialist a match made in heaven!
