From the Washington Post, May 2, 2021 A silver English shilling found during a dig in St. Mary’s, Md., is more proof that archaeologists have pinpointed the correct location of an old fort. (Historic St. Mary's City) It was an elegant coin, showing the crowned king in profile with goatee and lace collar. It was probably missed by its owner, and probably searched for, in vain. I wish my neighborhood wasn't developed in the early 90s. Then it'd make it worthwhile detecting around my place. Before it was developed, it was forest so there is a slim-to-none chance of there being anything besides re-bar and other crap that the builders backfilled the lot with.
