The advantage of it is so we could direct-link to other current posts from the page we're currently viewing. A solution would be to to just have an option tab on those windows to close them and restore to full screen when you want. Then, let's say you want to see the current posts, again...just click the tab, and resort back to split screen.
I personally dont care how or why CT changes, I'm just thankful for the great forum thats been provided for us.
I find it funny that until this forum brought up the advertise it here column I had not even noticed it... guess it's not to annoying to me ;-)
Yea, I think most members here understand that the days of me supporting this site by selling off my own collection can't last forever. Even with generous sponsors like Arizona Jack, the single ad spot on the top isn't enough to pay the bills. I do have plans for other new features that are not advertisements that will go into the column, and the ads weren't even the primary motivator for the side column. I think when the rest of the pieces fall into place, more people will understand why I think the column is a necessity.
Over all things, I love the pun you posted in the title of this thread. But seriously, the column whatchamacallit on the right makes the forum seem to "bloggish" IMO. Maybe move it to the user cp or something? I'm getting used to it, so it isn't a big deal with me, lol, but just my two cents about the change. Phoenix
Pete, Your dedication is awesome! I will definitely renew my subscription, and heck, maybe Ill pick up another T-shirt or something! THANKS! The place looks awesome!
Yea, that's one thing I definitely want to work with to expand. There are many, many more great posts that people have made that didn't even make it into that page too, and I am working on a way of making those great posts easier to find.
I love the new sidebar and all of its features. My only suggestions would be for the new posts that it would take you to the first unread post of that topic. Also maybe the unanswered posts section could open in the same window. Other then that I love what you have done and also the reorganization of the topics.
Will you be recapturing former "threads of the month" that were lost with the software upgrade or update the "hall of fame"? Just curious and thank you for all that you do Peter.
Private Message Quick Reply I just noticed the Quick Reply feature for Private Messages. I like that.
As an aside to this thread, we should probably start to have a serious conversation about how we, as a group, will seriously continue funding coin talk. I'd imagine that the nickels and dimes that we are chipping in isn't going to cover future costs. Just thinking out loud, but perhaps some kind of bonus section might be good, or if people want to contribute coins to cointalk, we can have a fund raising auction for either coins or some other honor on the site. This works for my synaguage (not perfectly but it does fairly well). Ruben
