LOL, as with my Wife! She gets sick, and I get to enjoy the show ALONE! No disinterested tagging along behind me, with the look of "when are we leaving?"
It's a denarius from ACM; C P Malleolus, (etc) with the naked warrior/Hercules reverse, 96 BC, Crawford 335/3f (obviously a bit of a pun with the hammer of Thor/Mars obverse---'Excedrin Headache' # infinity LOL):
That is the most grotesque rendering of Mars I've seen on an ancient coin yet I can't look away! What on earth was the engraver thinking? Where's the rest of his cranium? (Oh, right-- it was smashed by the hammer above his head). Mouth-breathing, slack-jawed, loose-skinned... yeesh! Looks like the God of War was soundly defeated. Forget fourrees-- this is the true "zombie" coin! (shudder)
