Cataloging Conundrum: Who struck this Pigasus?

    Tiff, I could look up the reference and check it out, but I literally started my German lessons yesterday, so I can't read squat. Except for Frau, Wasser, and a handful of other words.

    I do know, however, that Winzer is a specialized reference on the satrapal coinage and the best treatment of satrapal bronze available.

    Good luck with learning German!

    I've typed various German coin book/catalog items into Google Translate and it rarely does a good job. Apparently in the German language words are often strung together into some long conglomeration. Sometimes dividing the words does the trick but it is spotty at best, especially coupled with abbreviations and numismatic-specific verbiage.

    This is one of the things I like most about German. It makes it fun and it is a living language that can be modified for most any purpose.
