Having worked with cash registers 20+ years, the list is kind of long. A full roll of 64 Kennedy halves Unc, several IHC from 1897-1907, 3 Buffs, tons of wheat cents, quite a few war nicks and many silver dimes and quarters and several silver certificates. The only one that stands out was an AU 1944 D/S Lincoln (the less valuable one) that was covered in gunk. I carefully washed it off with soap and water, found the over mintmark and it turned out to be a better example than the one in Cherrypickers guide. (Probably an earlier strike since the S was a bit more formed) I sold it on Ebay for $90 and the buyer was thrilled. If I hadn't been broke at the time, I would have kept that one!

My crew thinks I am the worlds biggest geek for keeping a magnifying glass handy, but it is a simple pleasure that breaks up the day.

Things I have tried to find but never have: any Web notes at all, any state quarter errors, any presidential dollar edge errors, 1994 DDR Lincoln, 1980D/S Lincoln, any paper money errors at all.

This week a youngster came in with his dad and spent 4 rolls of mixed wheat and Memorial cents. There were 43 wheats including a 29-S and a 1918 both in VG or so. I will give the kid a few dollars next time I see him to encourage him to collect coins. My impression was that he and dad raided dad's old Whitman so the kid could buy the game he wanted.

While that list may seem long, it is based of of thousands and thousands of hours behind the til, and some of those finds happened in the late 70's. Silver halves came around fairly often back then, and the 40% guys were common even 10 years ago.

Keep looking and learning. Finding the 44D/S was one of the coolest moments I have had and you will have something like that come along if you watch carefully. Mike
