I thought this was an interesting insight into the inner-workings of politics. It's interesting how "dues" are kicked up to the Boss...just like in the Mafia.

Oh, come on. . . I'd prefer not to walk a mile in these shoes:
Hitler, Stalin, Heinrich Himmler, Idi Amin, Saddam Hussein, Vlad the Impaler,
    etc, etc, etc,

If we were to institute the ability to call for a "Vote of No Confidence" we would have the ability to remove under-performers or those who act contrary to the Will of the People. Otherwise, with term limits, we only have to deal with them for 2 or 4 or 6 years. While a lot of damage could be done in those time frames, the damage is being done today.

The only power politicians have is the power we give them with our vote. As long as our Constitution remains fractured by the 16th Amendment, identity politics will rule the day...term limits or not. Everything that's happening, we're doing to ourselves.

Nor would l like to walk in the shoes of present day criminals and dictators...but we're not talking about them, are we? We're talking about Society in general...which is always a perfect snapshot of a moment in time...good and bad. Brushing the "bad" under the carpet only dooms us to repeat it.

Add to your list, they should be required to live like those they serve. Ie: insider trading should be just as illegal for them as it is for us. As it stands they can, and do trade publicly traded investments that they have the power over legislation affecting those businesses or industries, and other inside information with impunity.

They should be required to use the same health insurance we do.

Agree and agree. Then include in the new law, prohibiting trading in the stock market while in public office. If found in violation, all gains are forfeit and the prison term is some multiple of what a private citizen would get for the same offense. Think that might work?

They should...but they won't. They're a front for a criminal organization that uses identity politics to manipulate the electorate. As long as they control the laws, the enforcement of laws, and the media...they're untouchable.

It is, contrary to what you have read what was alleged does NOT constitute "insider trading."

    This isn't insider trading.

Makes sense but does the same apply to car, life, and home insurance ? Provide more transparency and ability for all to buy in.

Finding Stalin in a list containing two Nazis disappoints me. To me, he will always be a member of the liberating Allied forces along with Roosevelt and Churchill.

It was a temporary marriage of convenience. He had allied with Nazi Germany and Hitler only a few years earlier and greenlighted Hitler to start WW II.

I'm all for it. However, that agreement and $15 will only get you a cup of Starbucks. ;)

That's your opinion. I see it totally as trading on inside information.

Where is Brutus when we need him? For that matter, John Wilkes Booth? And so many others that stood on their principles. Are government is out there to take every penny they could get from us. My wife are retired state employees. We are fortunate to get social security and State Retirement. Yet, we live in a trailer that was built in the late 60's.
Why is it that only politicians are the only ones that can impeach a government elected person? Can we? I just heard that one of the Supreme Court is withdrawing from watching over the impeachment trial. That means there will be 3 and 3 over another broken tool of government. I think the American people should be able to be on a jury on an impeachment trial. And this, and that, and whatever crap our government is doing now to screw the American people, the illegals, citizens in prison for murder, drugs and so many other things.
Sorry. I rattle on. You guys are great. Thanks for your thoughts. By the way, I still fly the Confederate Battle Flag. We live about a mile down a dirt road and a lady driving down our dirt road and saw our flag (which is next to the American Flay) and stopped and was reaching my flag to tear it down. I told her that if she reaches for my flag again, she would be bringing back a stub from my gun. (My gun is in my closet and not loaded.)

He is in "good" company, probably killed more people(Russians, Ukrainians and other ethnicities in the USSR) than Hitler killed. In fact, only Mao probably killed more people.

The rule here (read: in our local elementary schools) seems to be: "If you identify with being a teacher, you're a teacher." :(...and (this is no lie)...they don't teach spelling anymore! And graded papers are not marked for either spelling or grammatical errors!!!! I follow this closely with my grandkids. Next school year we'll find out about 6th grade. :meh: History is considered part of "social studies", so it competes for time with all the other "social (read: socialist) studies" subjects...

And here's a real irony: last spring, when they initially went to remote classes, one "teacher" in particular couldn't figure out how to set up a zoom session with the whole class at the same time!!!...it was chaos for half a day! (I know because 2 students were at my house everyday taking their classes.) It's going to get nasty! History is not in our favor!:dead:

At least you don't have the Chicago way: say it is too dangerous to teach in person while on vacation in Puerto Rico. :banghead:
