Canadian V cent coin with a line through it

    Not sure if this is a minting error or just damage. But I can see a deep line futting through the V. 20190710_022236.jpg

    Ditto. It especially looks like a scratch where it crosses the right bar of the V, lower down.

    Some vending machines in Canada long ago used to drag a sharp pointed probe across the coin check to make sure it wasn't a washer. If the pressure was too high or the probe too sharp it would result in a scratch across the coin.

    This is a Five Cent piece, commonly known as a "nickel" in the US, not a cent.
