Charlton 66th Edition 2012 has the back section on dollar varieties. Seems like used copies are available. I've always loved this era of big hunks of silver. I don't know if people consider it a "type", but adding to the serdogthehound list might be the 1947 Maple Leaf, actually coined in 1948 because they were waiting for 1948 dies without the ET IND IMP, since George VI was no longer emperor of India. The 1947 ML and "true" 1948 are expensive coins though.
