I came accross a Canadian penny - probably minted within the past 10 years - it has no date stamp on the maple leaf side, but it does have a small KG on the right side of the maple leaf. On the back is Queen Elizabeth II and there is a date on the left side 1952-2002 and a small P. Would a penny without a date be of any value? PS - I am new at this, but very interested in coin collecting.

Welcome! You have one of 716,366,000 Canadian Cents commemorating the 50th anniversary of Elizabeth II becoming Queen. It is Bronze-plated zinc (that's what the P is for) and was minted in 2002. Uncirculated it might be worth 50 cents. If it came in change it's worth 1 Cent (Canadian),

I pulled one of these pennies out of a roll of American pennies tonight.

114 million minted with a 'P' and 716 million minted with no 'P' ; just a normal 2002 Canadian cent.
