I only have one coin shop that's sells junk silver to me for under or spot. He's been out of u.s junk silver as no one will sell as silver is at 22 dollars. BUT he has rolls upon rolls and stacks upon stacks of Canadian junk silver , Australian, china, anything foriegn. I personally don't like buying junk silver from places i don't know but do you think Canadian junk silver is easy to sell when silver is higher,? Also I bought the last of the 80% from him, now he only has full rolls. Should I buy a whole roll of Canadian junk silver? How much is considered a good deal?( ill count how many coins but the roll is the same size as a normal junk silver roll would hold. Anybody know?)
Why not? I like Canadian junk silver just fine. It's a lot cheaper than the US stuff, and it stores pretty easily if it's in rolls.
Or you could go to a coin show. "No one will sell as silver at $22" is simply not true. I went to a coin show last weekend and saw maybe $3000 face value of junk for sale. Online you can buy $100 face junk bags for a little over $1700 right now, in stock.
I love the Canadian silver dollars and I buy them for melt value all the time. Just keep in mind that the 1935-1967 dollars were 80% silver, and the newer silver proof dollars are all over the place, so make sure you check the ASW before you buy.
To me junk silver, is junk silver, even if there are higher premiums now for US 90%. As long as I've been into silver, Canadian junk silver has been easy to sell.....
