My new favourite Canadian coin. I just got it back from PCGS, graded MS-65...

It is a 1978 1-cent, struck on a 1977 5-cent. The collar was not there, obviously some shenanigans at the Royal Canadian Mint in 1978...

This is the third double denomination, double strike coin that I have (I also have a 1977 25c struck on a 1975 5-cent, and a 1947 5-cent, struck on a 1-cent planchet, then overstruck by a 1947 1-cent dies), plus the 1969 pair I posted here last year.

Another paper in Errorscope will be forthcoming on Canadian double denominations...

Wow Nice collection of Canadian Double denominations. This coin talk is what got me to join this site. I'm new to this site. I know this is an old post but I thought I'd get in it. Cheers
