Here's a recent addition to a small collection that has been on hold for a while. Up until now, I have just been buying mostly sharp looking 'raw' coins to a slowly growing collection; but this is a year in a nice grade I've been looking for and was nicer than I thought it had been graded by ICCS so I picked it up. But then again I have a difficult time deciding on a grade on coins approaching higher grades. Just wondering what others might think of a grade on this one? (I know...not really easy to give a good guess at grade based on a scan and on top of it of a coin under 2 layers of plastic...but just looking for other opinions). The mark across the 'G' on the obverse is a speck of dust b/n the two layers of plastic.
Very Nice, very nice Indeed. I've got a few Cdn Dollars even a 1939 and several 'Death Dollars', but not one of those. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Take Care Bone
I'm going to call it MS-62, but you have to tell us what ICCS says. I am the same as you, I feel a lot more comfortable grading below MS. Bill
Well bromac; ICCS says AU58...I don't know, they may be right, but I was thinking MS 62ish too. Hard too see any wear with coin in hand. I'm happy with the purchase though...now have to save up enough for a 48....may take me while:smile Thanks for the comments from everyone else.
Boy it sure looks better than AU from the scans. My brother was born in 48 and I'd really like to get him a year set but the dollar in any grade is way out of my league. Bill
