I always thought medals were like those Olympic medals. I'd hate to wear this one around my neck though. :goofer:
You certainly wouldn't want to drop this humungous medal-coin on your foot.Being 100 kg. in weight & 53cm. in diameter is proof of why it deserves to be known by the nickname of 'Coinzilla'. Aidan.
Crispy1995,the issue price is C$3,000,000,which is a good reason why you won't see this in circulation any time soon,or ever. Aidan.
hello again folks: I once heard that Canadian Gold Maple Leafs are preferred for their purity over other gold products in the making of jewellery in the far east. I believe the comment was in regards to melting the gold coins down, and using the gold to make various types of jewellery. I guess perhaps having a 99999 pure gold coin would make a difference in this situation if the info I heard is indeed true. Anyways the Royal Canadian Mint has a first on their hands with this new numismatic item. I haven't heard of any other 99999 coins made in the world yet. Talk to you all later. :smile
http://www.mint.ca/royalcanadianmintpublic/index.aspx?requestedPath=/en-CA/Home/default.htm I was thinking of using mine to buy Ohio. Edit, nope the above link takes your to RCM... the link won't work coz the whole site is in Flash.
I guess I will have to get out my old bib overalls so I can carry mine around to give it that circulated look!:goofer::hammer: Frank
Here is some info ... without Flash. Maybe that helps. http://www.newswire.ca/fgov/en/releases/archive/May2007/03/c4485.html Christian
Yea, try and change that at your local gas-n-go!! Although...the way the price of gas is going you might not need much change back after filling your tank.
Here's your chance to own it. Teletrade's auctioning it off... http://www.teletrade.com/coins/lot.asp?auction=2409&lot=1258
