This error is new to me. I bought this dollar in a larger lot and at first glance thought "Die clash!?!?". I instantly second guessed myself and after some searching I decided I just can't hog it all to myself. Does anyone know exactly what kind of error this is!?

    It's called 'post mint damage'.......

Does not look like any error I've ever seen. Some sort of squeeze job? Post Mint Damage.

If I use enough imagination o_O, looking above the r and t in liberty on the obverse, I can make out the "one" from the "one dollar" on the reverse.

And that's fine Christian. I used to stare at clouds as a child and would see a multitude of things........funny......still do that to this day. :)

Maybe it's damage from a coin wrapping machine?

    Most likely:
The coin was formerly in a 'good luck' charm.

I have an Indian Head cent with the same edge markings.

    Now, considered PMD.

    Sorry, not an error.

At one time it was an encased dollar (or an attempt was made to make it an encased dollar), and the die used for doing the encasing damaged the coin. I would imagine if you searched for "encased silver dollar" or "encased Peace dollar" you might actually find the design that's encroaching on the coin above.
