"Rare error coins" with a retained cud of chewing gum will <i>never</i> sell at coin shows, or local stores, or major auctions; they'll <i>sometimes</i> sell on eBay, because some people are goofy, and community shame doesn't seem to be a factor for eBay sellers.</p><p><br /></p><p>Actual collectible coins, though? In my (narrow and limited) experience, some sell high on eBay, some sell low there.
