That is what I have been saying all along, (for years here on CT). Pristine surfaces should be valued, not color. I was shown as a kid first hand how toners did it. Back then they did it to hide surface imperfections. That is why so many coins were dipped, to prove they hadn&#039;t been AT to hide something. I never liked that, preferring to look the coin over and buying naturally toned coins back when they didn&#039;t cost any more. Today&#039;s collectors who ONLY value color have it wrong.
