If I go and purchase it on my own, then I roll the dice on the outcome.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Let me share a story of how my day just went with some dealers in my area. I left early for work with money in pocket with a few ideas of what I would like to find today at the coin shop. I stumbled upon a coin store on my way to the one I was planning on going to. I looked at a few things just through the glass and judging by some of the grading I have seen here on the forums compared to the same coin graded there it just seemed over priced. I got there at 5 till 3pm and they closed at 3pm. They were vacuuming and closing up and I didn&#039;t even notice their hours. (that was my bad) So I quickly left and apologized. Point is, my first impression was that they seemed over priced and I doubt I will go back. I think I could do better with some people on CT or ebay to be honest. NOW comes the store I was really headed to. I go in and the cigarette smoke takes over all of the air in this place. Some guys are sitting in the back playing poker. I could not have felt more out of place. This coin store had 2 glass counters that looked like they got cleaned 3 years ago and on top of the counter was a dump bin of 2x2 coins just thrown in there. I am thinking, oh my god I have to get out of here. So the shop owner comes out from the back and greets me with cigarette in hand. (actually a really nice guy) asks me what I am looking for because he had a 6&#039;x4&#039; standing, beat up, black safe and &quot;probably had what I was looking for in it&quot;. Are you kidding me? I mean, how is that a coin dealer with a walk in store? I get that he has been in business for 32 years, has his regulars etc. but all in all it was a joke. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I had some more time to kill and decided I would check a local flea market. I know what you are thinking right now probably ....but here is how that went. Ok in short, junk, junk, more junk and loud kids and junk, ( I used to love going to flea markets, no offense to anyone) but wait, just as I was leaving I noticed the glass cases up front. The expensive stuff if you will.<img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie8" alt=":D" unselectable="on" unselectable="on" /> There was a case of just coins all in 2x2 cards. I had some cash just burning a hole in my pocket. You have to be quick at these places too because at this particular market someone had to go get the key for you to unlock it, the place is busy as all get out, then they stand there and stare at you while you are trying to make a lightning fast grade in your head, do the math, and think of things you know and have learned etc. lol unbelievable.... I should have just walked away with nothing but here is what I bought <img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie9" alt=":eek:" unselectable="on" unselectable="on" />.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I am a big boy I can take it. Please grade it and guess what I payed. Be honest! It&#039;s Ok really.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The reason I felt the need to ramble on about all of this is because for me this little trip today has helped me narrow down what I will be doing in the future as far as shopping, listening to intelligent peoples advice and talking to people that I feel I can trust even though we may never meet face to face.
