    Good question! It also intrest me on who saw the value 1st.I know there has been collector's basicly since coins but still...The thought's are endless.What was the mint 30 some yrs.old when this coin was minted!??! HAPPY HUNTING:)!!!

    Part of the reason to collect 1/2 cent's is that not too many are doing it.Is that because it's not an "exciting" type? Meaning no variation's,Small run&Key coins are fairly big dollar in VF+ and up con.!??! HAPPY HUNTING:)!!!
