63 maybe 64. I don't see PL based on those photos. The finger prints also aren't appealing to the eyes.

in hand has some mirroring and definitely a cameo frost, pictures do not show the luster

Great Southern is notorious for details coins unless slabbed.

62-63. I am thinking it falls short of PL.

Are those scratches to the left of the eagle? If so it may not even straight grade.

I would say an average MS63 because the fields are quite busy with scratches

no, those are very shallow bag marks..no scratches just a slight scuff on the mirror finish

Definitely not prooflike. The cheek marks keep it to low MS. I will say 62-63 at most. Great Southern is notorious for juicing up their photos to make coins look better.

Try and stick to slabbed coins. If you look hard enough you can still spot deals on eBay. Join some Facebook groups too. There are deals to be had on there too, but check references first.

i do really good on slabbed, usually pay 1/3 to 1/4 of numismedia retail..but on raw, sometimes spend 18.00 for a coin that grades out to a 67 or 68 and brings 20 to 30 times amount spent, on this one i got tanked, and am not good at grading dollars as usually stick to the smaller denominations i am more familiar with...thanks for the advice..

There have been allegations that GSC cracks out details coins and sells them as raw. Note with their raw coins that they only guarantee they are genuine.

they do honor 20 day refunds for any reason, returned one morgan that was au-58 sold as gem bu, and a 1950 qtr that had fingerprints both sides, seems the photographer got sloppy in handling them...

That would not surprise me. Some of their employees are well-known coin doctors.

I've heard this too...but I know nothing other than rumors.

What I do know is they certainly juice their online photos and make the coins look far better than they do in hand.

I agree with the rest of the group, I'm at MS62 on this one.

I know they do, as I have a buddy at NGC and he complains about them all the time—so I know through “solid rumor.” lol

They shoot all their coins in perfect light to exaggerate the good qualities, and then photoshop the coins with over saturated, overcompensated exposures, Black points, and white balance. They have always been good at making their coins look richer than in hand, but with technology improved? They are experts at deception.
