Yup not the variety ,but understand that the 1943 Jefferson nickel is a variety in its self...there over 70 known RPM 's known, numerous ddo & ddr's known the over date....so there's more varieties known on the 43 P then other coins...and the odds are greater to find a 43 P that isn't a variety is greater than one that is a variety. War nickels have so many varieties in general...for all years produced. The 43P /2 has a fish hook barb as pictured find that barb your in high cotton.
NOTE: there is die set of a normal 1943 P that has a crack similar to the 'barb' for the real 43/42 variety. Be sure that you identify it appropriately when cherry picking.
I just sold a mess of Jefferson 43 varieties double eye, 2x 43/2's as well rpms fun to collect... Die cracks as well lamination error there are so many...to count....always check toms head many have him as a crack head
