1937 Year of the sit down strikes, Franklin Mint Sterling Silver Token.
Small coin. Won the auction on ebay for 1.49 shipped. Just bought it out of curiosity mostly. Did an internet search to get more info. with no luck. Thanks all.

I would image the '76' indicates date of copyright .

I'm guessing yours was minted in 1976.
I think they had various sayings on the backside throughout the years.

How much does it weigh? Silver is below $15 right now, but at $15.55 it's 50 cents a gram, x .925= 46 1/4 cents a gram.

I haven't seen it in hand yet. I am just guessing it will be like other 1/10th. ounce silver tokens I have. If it isn't that big, what the heck. $1.49. LOL

Franklin mint did a lot of sets commemorating various things, this could be from a set commemorating the labor movement, or events during the depression etc. I used to have a catalog of Franklin mint issues but I have no idea where it is. Never mint it would have been before this piece. Krause publication did put out a guidebook on Franklin Mint issues, last edition seems to have been 1982, and they are rather costly at the moment (about $60 for the 82 edition, $45 for the 78 or 79 editions.)

LOL LOL LOL. Got it in today. The ad said it was small and it sure as heck is that. It is about the size of a pea. Sure is amazing how someone got the detail on to this thing. Amazing under a magnifier. Guess it was done with computerized lasers or something. Good little conversation piece. LOL.
