Can a coin acquire "desert patina" if it wasn't minted anywhere near the desert?

I don't care for applied patinas at all, but we need to be careful about condemning coins prematurely. At NYINC I examined a few hoards very similar to the one Salem posted above - hundreds of common coins with similar, homogeneous sand patinas. They look applied to the untrained eye, but in fact they aren't - it's exactly how they appear after they've been lightly cleaned.

when you deal with a seller like me at Athena Numismatics, we do mention if the Patina is applied or might be applied , we do mistakes for sure rarely , but we backup our coins and we do offer full refunds if you don't like the coin, and a sorry credit if we missed mentioning that the coin has applied patina plus full refund.
    for example...edited.

Again, see the edit above in your prior post!!

In the interests of benefit-of-the-doubt, and for the reasons mentioned by Doug & John, I'm requesting CT admin removes this thread.

Why remove it? I've learned a lot from the contents. I have also gained respect for @Salem Alshdaifat for having the gonads to come on here and give his thoughts on the subject.

That is true. Things were getting a bit heated, but there was some good content.

Stick around Salem, CT could use more Vcoins dealers. I won't comment on the bronzes (I primarily collect late Roman silver coins anyway), but I did buy a very nice Nero denarius from him at a very generous price. Thanks for that!
