The first one is an older model and you need to make sure it will meter with your camera. The 2nd is a fine lens but you do not need the VR option. You may be paying for something you will not use.
it will work, but you will not have auto focus, I know that for macro photography manual focus is preferred but still auto focus is good to have, also from what I can see in the picture it has manual Aperture setting, also not really sure if it has internal focus or not, this is really important for macro photography. the best thing to do would be to actually see and try both lenses in a camera shop if you can before you decide.
I'll stack my 200 f/4 against any of them. As for the autofocus discussion, if you are older, or have failing sight (as I must admit), autofocus becomes handy. If you have eagle eyes, like b62v, you'll be good. Personally, I use a D300, but just about any of the Canon or Nikon DSLRs can take WONDERFUL photos -- provided they are equipped with macro lenses in the 90+mm range. That said, the biggest differences in photos tend NOT to be from equipment -- but rather from the technique and experience of the person behind the lens/mouse. IMO, of course.
