Different strokes for different folks. This coin right here is super rare even so it would look ho-hum without the Cameo affect. I'd much prefer a Cameo coin but that's just me.
The "cameo" effect on proof and some non-proof coins is the direct result of new strikes from either fresh dies or freshly treated dies and IMO, is in fact, a big deal. Not so much on todays "fabricated" Cameo coins but a necessity none the less to easily distinguish coins produced for "collectors" from standard circulation issues.
Angelo, that gold pattern is AMAZING! It must be worth a fortune... made of gold, it's old and scarce!?
