Over the past 6 months I have noticed an increased membership in the Paper Money Forum. Last year we had a Group Presentation schedule with the Group Award going to USS656's presentation (it was a stellar presentation). Once I became ill I had to basically withdraw from the organizing of the group. Well I am better and I miss this part of our forum very much. I am in the reorganization phase for the Group and wanted to convey the New Groups Org Chart as well as ask current members to validate their status as active as well as ask new members to join. Connor1 will maintain an active Member List RickieB and Krispy will be the administrative organizers and set scheduling as well as add new features for the group. Thanks Krispy for your willingness to be part of this as the work load gets heavy at times. Krispy, Connor1 and I will be coordinating the Group Events and try our best to provide you with updated information, activities, and new developments. So I ask you to confirm your interest in the group so we can begin assembling a new membership listing and move forward from there. Please simply reply to this Thread to confirm your membership in the Group. I posted a current list in this thread http://www.cointalk.com/t120710/ If you are not a current Member, please do request to join in. We look forward to kicking off a new schedule that we think will provide enjoyment and educational information on Banknote collecting and Security Engravings, Art Work, Engravers, Authors, Institutions, and even top level dealers of the industry. Thank you for your interest..more information to follow soon. Regards, Rick, Connor1 and Krispy
Security Engravers Group For those of us who have joined since the SEG formed/presented, could we get an idea of the workings? Perhaps a link to the prior presentations? Thanks!

More Presentation links! I've decided to continue organizing these links publicly to help bump the thread along and to help remind everyone of the great presentations that have come before. Below are links from previous SEG Presentations to date that I can currently assemble in chronological order. Each lists: a link to the presentation, the presentations topic(s), the presenter's CT member name and the actual posting date of their presentation. My apologies, if I have missed any one's presentation in this revised list of links. If anyone can provide a link or more information to a missing presentation please do so. Thanks again for all the great work. :smile Instructions for Posting your Presentation in the Group Discussion Area by RickieB [10/17/2009] 2009 Security Engravers Group Presentations 01 • Security Engravers Vignette Presentation by connor1 Topic: U.S. Coast Guard Academy Certificate by Connor1 [10/18/2009] 01a • Engraver's Presentation added by Connor1 Topic: (added information to Bob's original presentation) by Connor1 [10/28/2009] 02 • ??? 03 • Security Engravers Vignette Presentation by Dready Topic: Science Presenting Steam & Electricity to Industry & Commerce by Dready [10/25/2009] 03a • Engraver 's Presentation Added Info by Dready Topic: (Engraver Charles Schlecht -- added information) by Dready [10/27/2009] 04 • Engraver's Presentation by Scottishmoney Topic: G. Well I was the last to post their's...I hope mine was not a group distroyer I'm in for more and hope it turns out well. I think the lack of it still going right now was your health and guidance Rickie. But with you back I think it's a go again
Duke the Destroyer? Heck no! I figured you were a SEG lifer, thanks for confirming! And, yes, it is good to have RickieB back and whipping us into action!
I am not sure what this is, but I realy enjoyed the presentations. Do I have to join in order to receive them? I don't know enough about currency to create one yet but would love to learn all I can.
@jhinton: Actually, that's about how I started out. I joined the group last year to learn more about currency as my knowledge was very lacking at the time having always neglected this aspect of numismatics. By the new year I'd made a New Year's Resolution to learn more and really get involved in Paper Money collecting and related topics like Security Engraving, technology, souvenir cards and history in general as it applies to currency and cultural identity. It's fascinating and I implore you to join us and see what direction it may take you. I didn't do a presentation yet because of my similar feelings of lacking the knowledge but this group and this forum supports learning and sharing information so I feel confident I can present something when my time comes around.
