[QUOTE="RiverGuy, post: 1305105, member: 22755"]Jeez....I've been gone two weeks and on returning this thread really caught my attention. Yeah, it took a while to read - DreCollector is long winded - however, I couldn't agree more with him or her as well as reliable old Leadfoot. I have been a collector submitter since 2008 and I'm absolutely in favor of John Albanese' policies and practices. Yes, it was an eyeopening application for membership - references??? Yep, that surprised me; ANA membership? The more I thought about the process the more I saw his reasoning. CAC wanted serious collectors and this was a way to reach them. Bear in mind there was no requirement for size or worth of collection. Yes, they only consider selected coin series but you know that going in - if you don't collect those, don't apply. Originally I submitted a couple hundred coins but now send maybe 5 to 6 a month. I was a decent coin grader before joining but my skills have increased since I began to learn their standards. You all should realize that their operation is very "no frills". For example, my coins are always sent back to me in the box I sent them in. The turnaround time puts the TPGs to shame! Last Christmas they sent all of us a beautiful autographed hardbound book.

Simply put, John Albanese knows how to take care of his customers.
