You do realize that, prior to 2013 iirc, CAC didnt even charge collector members for failed submissions, right? Funny that this horrible and greedy entity would do such a thing, isn't it? Most who slam CAC could, if just willing to open their eyes, learn a lot from what CAC does as it is one of the cheapest tuitions out there, even today pass or fail.
The point I was trying to make (regarding OP's coins) is that CAC doesn't always get it right either........
PCI-graded coins have a poor reputation with many dealers, with some justification. However, I think the overgrading of PCI coins really refers to the later ones with a gold insert. Not long ago, I submitted 6 PCI-graded coins, with green labels, to PCGS to see if they would cross over. One was returned because of questionable color, one received a lower grade (AU58 to AU55), three received the same grade when they crossed, and one received a higher grade (AU58 to MS62). Go figure!
A good salesman can sell a glass of water to a drowning man. A so so salesman can sell anything if their product is good. But even a bad salesman can easily sell something that looks as good as that three cent piece does. my point..... when you have a coin that looks that good put a price on it ....your price , a price you'll be happy with, and stick to your guns. Coins that have been graded by a TPG as well as sticker ed have sold well under par. You all get so worked up over grades and stickers you drive yourself nuts! Looking at that fish scale,if I had the means I would not even sneeze over a price that you would ask. There's no one in here can say that coin has issues, or is not worth a nice chunk of change. Trust your eye ,don't pay money for someone else's option ....as advice and options are cheap......you just got mine for free. Set your price and accept nothing other than...... even if you came down 5-10% it's still cheaper then the fee's you paid and the worried it's caused. JMHO
John Albanese has said repeatedly that CAC exists for the collectors not for the dealers. HA is the #1 dealer entity in the USA. CAC pleases collectors but try to show fairness to all. With the HA coins, every minute speck is chronicled in vivid color and hues. Maybe more careful when HA sends them submissions, which probably come 100 or more at a time. Joe collector sends them his prize jewels and presto! Green and gold stickers and warm fuzzy feelings for the hobby ensue.
Did I mention I have a law suit againt them for similar activity and even more issues you are going to be disappointed to hear the whole story. So far we have stayed out of arbitration , all I can do is hope. I d like to keep it in a court room. Imagine with the coins purchased thru them and the advising me all the way. consignments ect
Hugh, don't say another word.........these guys are probably out there, trolling the forums, waiting for you to make a misstep of statement that they can capitalize upon, and present in court. Hold your cards close to your chest and I hope you have a valued lawyer......
He has long since blown his case with incessant online blathering about the affair. Any defense lawyer has enough to savage his position. It's too late. They're going to tear him to shreds.
Another thing that will cause a coin to fail cac is surface issues so many coins have been cleaned altered etc and still grade straight. Those will usually fail at cac. But their not fool proof
I submitted a coin that failed to sticker to my surprise. I resubmitted it 2 weeks later, and guess what?... It stickered.
