Chappel and his cronies are dangerous. Watching them sell $90 dollar coins for $3800. I hope this is not true. He and Shawn should be rotting in some Mexican prison somewhere. DO NOT BUY THAT CRAP.. You will hate yourself when you really find out their true worth... As is normal, however, no one will listen or read and the will continue to cry while their hard earned money goes into the pockets of crooks at art and coin tv
I picked up the state quarters set at my LCS. They were both P and D mint on laminated pages with historical info in 3-ring binders. I thought it would be interesting for my elementary school age children and I paid only face value. Inside was an envelope from the original seller who was charging $16.95 per page!
I watched part of the show tonight because they were auctioning off toned Morgans, Frankies and had 1 Kennedy. Please don't think I'm defending their pricing, but beautifully toned coins do not sell for grey sheet and they're hard to predict. I believe the prices they were asking tonight were steep, but the coins I believe you are referencing in your post were rainbow toned and some were monsters. I've learned a lot from watching these shows. I've also learned quite early that their prices are ridiculous. BTW, did you notice Rick Tomaska and Jack McNamara now have their own coin show. I noticed it last Thursday and it also aired all weekend. Same time slot as Barry's show. I wonder what kind of falling out those two had with Art & Coin TV. I'll bet it's interesting.
A friend of mine from my days at Blanchard used to be on coin vault. We had a drinking game for him. Whenever he said "to ya" you had to take a swig. No one lasted very long, he said it VERY often. But I love those shows though, my girlfriend will leave whenever I put one on and then I can watch something that I actually want to see.
