I desperately need a support group. I have slowly developed a $30 to $40 a day habit that is so hard to break. At first it was as most, just a recreational thing, but the closer I gett to filling a Dansco, the worse it has become. Is there a number I can call to get more books?
Or Coinoholics Anonymous. When I get a few coins of a series, I feel that I should get an album to put them in. I have several series that I've collected for a while, not aggressively, but just browsing and run across one I like that fits the grade I'm shooting for. In doing so many it cuts down on the boredom or frustration I get sometimes, while searching for one coin in particular. Sometimes I forget that I already have that one, so I have duplicates of many. If and when I do put them in an album, if there are many holes left to fill, I am fine with that. It's when there are few left to fill, when I get a little anxious. I have a sets in albums of buffalo nickles that lacks 6, a set of Indian head cents that lack 5, a set of Lincoln memorials that lacks 3, and several series of commemorative halfs that lack 1 or 2. Now comes the tough part for me. I'm back down to searching for a specific coin, and that I'm not good at. I have refused to put my Morgan's and Peace Dollars in albums because of, one, I might actually find out how many duplicates I have, and two, it will have me searching for one coin again, that for which I hate.
Off-Topic! I think there should be a sub-category in the legal profession that specializes in protecting numismatic assets from greedy spouses...........CCDF...........Coin Collectors Defense Foundation. Chris
The problem would be finding an attorney experienced in numismatics, that wouldn't want to keep most of what he saved for you. Edit: that really is the problem with all attorneys
