I actually live 100 m from ancient walls of Salona and I know a lot of people who have their gardens and olive groves in there (3/4 of the ancient city is covered with gardens and groves and only 1/4 is escavated) and those people often find roman coins while they are working in the gardens. Few od those coins I have seen were those justinians coins from gothic wars. They are mostly half follis but I also have seen a one decanummium. I have never seen a follis because it is the rearest of them all. I am also a metal detectorist but I do not search in the city because it is forbbiden so I search in the normal fields and hills few kilometers outside the city where it is not forbidden. In my collection I have 4 half follis coins and each of them is greatly different in size, weight and style. The biggest is 19mm in diameter while the smallest is 13mm. My friend also has an example of half follis where it was an originaly gothic coin that was counter struck and made into byzantine coin because of the shortage in material. The whole area was under gothic control than the byzantines took it and then the goths retaken it and byzantines took it again. There were a heavy fights for the city and the neighbouring forts. I also found a coin of the ostrogothic king witigis and that is also a witness of the changes in rule on that area.
