    Hi All.
The seller offered to me that coin and I don't know if worth or not purchase it. Could you help me to decide? How much you think I should pay for her? I ask because I'm afraid to make a bad deal.

Cleaned and environmental damage, but a neat piece of history. Don't pay more than $40.

I agree. Neat if you will never collect 19th century US coins as a one off, but if you start collecting others you will quickly learn to not like this coin. only buy it at a low price as a one of a kind piece of your collection to be able to hold an almost 200 year old half dollar.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Hard pass - avoid that one. It is ugly, damaged, and an eyesore.

1824 half dollars are common enough that you don't need to settle for something like that, at any price. You'll regret buying that.

I'd pass if it were me. That's the kind of coin that would gnaw at me and be painful to look at after a while.

Hard pass. There are great deals out there, it just takes looking through many, many coins to find that deal. Here’s a 1824 that I scored for $43.07. FEF46B05-5F30-4B9B-9213-56A072C8751C.jpeg D2074096-7C47-4BF2-AD67-BC14370A59CE.jpeg

Without reading others and just replying, Hell no, do not buy that. The obverse environmental damage has destroyed the eye appeal, and It's not a key date either. Wait til a nice example comes along.

Unless it is a rare die marriage (I don't think so but I am not a variety guy), I would run. It is damaged and harshly cleaned. Common date Capped Bust Half Dollars are inexpensive even up through XF.

Thank you all. The seller ask at least $100,00 for that coin. I'll pass.

Not a rare die marriage...O-111 is one of--if not the most--common die pairings for the year.

    Run away.

That coin is cleaned, and damaged, environmentally and otherwise. Anyone asking $100 for it is fishing for suckers. Nice ones can be found without too much trouble. I do like the double profile.

I would avoid the seller in the future. Hopefully he’s not the only one in town.

$100 is far too much. It's been cleaned and has env. damage. I'd pass.

For $100, you can get a great Bust Half with exceptional eye appeal. This was $100 exactly. 538076AE-FEF7-429E-9D86-4CA0159C3AB1.jpeg
