Thanks, HB...the bottom one is also quite nice for the year and type.. Might buy them both..bottom is about $40 less but still a good buy John
Curious? => which of those sweet babies did you end-up buying? Oh, I would definitely buy the 1938 (only 90,304 minted ... cha-ching!) ... yah, the 1939 is also a very sweet example, but there were far more examples minted for that year (1,363,816 minted) => but I hope that you bought 'em both!!
@stevex6 - I think they are both 1938. It's just the lighting that makes it look like a 9 on the bottom coin. Personally, I'd try to get the top one, but for the bottom one price. Or melt. (ha!)
They are both 1938 and I think I agree with ya'll -- the TOP one. Bottom one "looks" cleaned, still nice but.. my old advice to myself, "self, when in doubt don't"
Bought them both, in for grading, hope to have them back soon and I will post the results...also bought a creamy smooth 1935, not rare, but love the coin in really high grade
I'd go with the top one. I have a couple toned Canadian coins circa this era and they are quite cool.
