What really sets me off is when you find a DEALER online who is selling pre-1965 nickels, claiming them to be silver (90%!). I try to message them, but it has been to no avail.
True that...I all along thought that nickels before 1965 contained silver also. But as I have learned on here, it is only the war nickels and at only 35%....not 40% like many other coins.
Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see anything on the slab or the paperwork that says 'silver' - just in the seller's description. Based on the (poor) pictures I don't think anything was swapped out or in to that holder. I think he just listed it as a 'silver dollar' because a lot of people call all the non-Sac/Pres dollars 'silver'. Even Teletrade has their clad Eisenhowers under the 'silver dollar' category.
