I have a 1997 Lincoln Penny that appears to have a Cud error in the shape of a bullet hole in Lincolns head. Anyone have any idea if there is any value to this coin? thought it was pretty cool considering the history of Lincoln!
damage, probably zinc rot .. plating blister. Common on 1982 onwards when they changed from a copper planchet to a thinly electrostatically copper plated zinc core planchet.
It is raised and is the same color of the coin itself. If you are correct, would that make it of no value? I am so very new to "coin hunting". I find it all so interesting. I will probably keep this one anyway just because I think it is cool Thank you so very much for your input!!
I think it's kind of morbid Lincoln was shot behind his left ear Just a small plating bubble or blister. Worth 1 Cent
Ha Ha! love the rhetoric! It could def. be considered morbid understandably. I love this coin however! Regardless of its monetary value... it is SUPER rare that you would find one like it again. Love the feed back and different view points!
By that logic, EVERY coin is "rare". Every coin is unique in some way. What matters is if it's different in a way that matters, and this one doesn't.
(Love the feed back and different view points!) Some posts just lend themselves to veering off the road to the silly side
Laughing my butt off. How are we ever to know the proper political correctness for all these irrelevant matters if we don't start compiling a guide for the politically correct impaired?? We must do this to save the world from climate change! ;o)
Nice way to raise this thread from the dead. OK, pun intended. Too bad Kurt is no longer on CT to respond.
