I think the designs with the 'helping hand' and 'looking out across the horizon' would have been so much more appealing (to look at) and would have better embodied what scouting is all about. It's too bad that an appointed politician (serving at the whim of the president) makes the final selection instead of some sort of advisory board having the final say.
